This presentation is an outline of Susan’s most recent research on the theme of the (mis)representation of certain moral “types” of women as hate objects in postfeminist film and television, including the (mis)representation of lesbian desire to mark out the supposed, imagined pathology, transgression and threat presented by the Other woman character.
Trigger Warning: The following seminar presentation will include image, script and text references to the sexualisation of women and eroticisation of violence in mainstream Hollywood erotic thriller films of the 1990s.
